      SECTION II: JOB SUMMARY

      Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Student Activities Director is responsible for leading, supervising and overseeing the total student activity programs within Hopkins Public Schools within the policies of the District, and rules and guidelines of the National Federation, Minnesota High School League, and the Regional Conference. The Student Activities Director is responsible for assuring an equitable balance and perspective with respect to the entire scope of Districts programs to best meet the needs of students and the community. In addition, the Student Activities Director is also responsible for program development and transformation that is aligned with the District Vision.

      SECTION III: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      Statement of duty/responsibility: Administers and supervises the operations, plans, and functions of the Student Activity Program.

      Statement of duty/responsibility: Supervises and provides leadership and direction to all head coaches, activity advisors, Activities Office staff members, and community volunteers.

        Screens, interviews, and hires new Activities personnel.
        Supervises, evaluates, delegates responsibilities to Activities personnel
        Develops and maintains a handbook for Activities personnel
        Conducts, advises on, and implements programs and procedures for Activities staff members’ performance growth and development

      Statement of duty/responsibility: Plans and schedules all activity events. Oversees the coordination of practices, contests, performances, and transportation needs/requests (including the supervision schedules for events).

      Statement of duty/responsibility: Oversees the public relations and publicity for events, programs, and related items. Collaborates with and informs the local media, students, parents, community and other interested individuals regarding relevant program information and accomplishments.

      Statement of duty/responsibility: Supervises the use and coordinates the maintenance of all school-owned equipment, supplies, and physical facilities used by the activities program. Collaborates and works with the Supervisor of Building and Grounds and the Facility Coordinator in the maintenance and improvement of fields, structures, and other related program items.

      Statement of duty/responsibility: Oversees the budget preparation and recommendations for the Activity Program. Approves and authorizes the expenditure and payment of all invoices and purchase orders. Coordinates and monitors the accounting and tracking of the department budget.

      SECTION V: EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
        Four-year degree in education, youth development, activity/sports management or other related field.
      SECTION VI: EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
        3-4 years post-graduate education or related experience in activities programming, non-profit management, outreach, or related field.
        Experience with leading high functioning teams.
        Management experience preferred.
        Applied financial skills and significant budgeting experience.
