This position is responsible for the verification and entry of pertinent data into tax and assessment rolls, coordinating the county's assessed values that establish the tax base, providing direction to municipalities and special districts. This position will assist with the In Rem tax foreclosure process and develop new or streamlined policies and procedures. In addition, this position will provide customer service to the general public as well as various reporting and clerical duties associated with general office operations.

Create and maintain real property ownership records and descriptions.
Create or correct legal real property descriptions. This includes proofing documents and information for accuracy, completeness, and legality of property descriptions, title or ownership of said property, and comparing data to existing records for conformity.
Communicate with drafters of documents to correct discrepancies as needed.
Prepare and ensure accuracy of the assessment work rolls, assessment rolls, and assessment notices.
Maintain the Managed Forest Lands database.
Create split parcels as described on Deeds and assign new tax parcel numbers to splits and new Certified Survey Maps.
Assist the County Treasurer in the administration of the Listing of Real Property.
Assist the County Treasurer with the annual real estate and personal property tax bill creation.
Assist the Property Tax Coordinator – Lead Worker with preparation and maintenance of all In Rem tax foreclosure processes.
Assist in the receiving and receipting of tax payments and deposits from all county departments as needed.
Assist with general inquiries whether in person, by telephone or electronically.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent competencies plus one additional year of formal preparation, and two to three years of relevant prior experience. Proven experience in ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages as well as ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts to calculate area, circumference, volume, and/or land measures. Proven experience with legal, drafting and real estate terminology.
