Assistant Treasurer assists in the direction and management of an organization's treasury activities. Oversees and directs all aspects of daily treasury activities. Being an Assistant Treasurer ensures financial transactions, policies, and procedures fulfill the organization's objectives, needs, and regulatory body requirements. Assists with the corporate banking, credit, and investment functions. Additionally, Assistant Treasurer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Assistant Treasurer manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Assistant Treasurer typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. The City of Clinton is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Treasurer. Under minimal supervision, performs professional accounting functions to help ensure the efficient and effective financial and cash management of the City?s various funding accounts. Manages various accounts receivable, budget maintenance, monthly account reconciliations, daily investment, maintenance, payroll processing, and the preparation of tax records, employee tax forms, and other tax and retirement paperwork within in compliance with all applicable governing agencies. Reports to the Finance Director.
Requirements: Requirements include but are not limited to: (1) Requires a minimum of an Associate's degree (bachelor preferred) in accounting supplemented by one to three years of experience in municipal/local government accounting/bookkeeping, payroll or related area, or an equivalent combination of education (four-year high school diploma/acceptable GED), training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform functions of this position. NOTE: Most ?online? GED?s are not acceptable. The City of Clinton reserves the right to accept/reject any submitted documents (2) Possess excellent customer service and above average written and verbal communication skills for internal and external customers. (3) Possess or be able to obtain a valid SC Driver?s License. (4) Applicant must pass pre-employment physical, pre-employment drug screen, and all other applicable background checks.
Hiring Range: $50,000-65,000 dependent on qualifications
