As a caregiver you will be expected to administer necessary care. As a caregiver you will work with elderly individuals. The duties will vary depending on the patient’s needs. You will provide general attention to non-medical and medical needs of clients following an established plan of care. Minimum physical requirements may be necessary, as you will carry out household tasks. You will provide homemaking services, such as light housekeeping, maintaining a clean environment, laundry, and preparation. You will also be required to administer medication. Depending on the patient’s abilities, the caregiver may be required to assist with dressing, and bathing the client. When possible, the caregiver will help rehabilitate the patient so that independence can be achieved.
All candidates must posses the following certifications in order to be considered for the position: current CMT, CPR/First Aid, and COMAR certification, as well as a physical and background check prior to starting.
