Position Summary:
The College of Health and Natural Sciences (CHNS) at Franklin Pierce University, Rindge, NH, seeks applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Mathematics, commencing Fall 2024. The mathematics program at Franklin Pierce University offers a minor in Mathematical Modeling, in addition to undergraduate service courses for programs across the University, including a one-course General Education requirement. This program is searching for an energetic, team-oriented candidate who can collaborate with other disciplines in making sure our mathematics offerings meet the needs of their programs and students. The normal teaching load each semester is 12 credits, most courses being 3-credit classes.
The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in Mathematics or closely related discipline. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining/developing the mathematics curriculum and for coordinating the Mathematical Modeling minor. To that end, we are interested in qualified candidates who can continue to build connections among the three Colleges at FPU: CHNS, the College of Business, and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. All full-time members of the faculty are expected to contribute to College and University events and activities. The candidate will also demonstrate teaching effectiveness at the college level and exhibit a strong commitment to undergraduate education, learning, and advising. All faculty members are expected to engage in institutional service as well as to maintain a program of scholarly/creative work.
