Position: Full-Time High School Science Teacher - Chemistry, AP Chemistry and ICP

Required Qualifications: Indiana Teaching License - REPA Chemistry 5-12 or Physical Science 5-12 - AP certification or willing to get certified

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities
• Use procedures to post syllabus, projects/lessons, and grades to the online student information system accessible to students, parents, and the community
• Maintain a classroom environment consistent with established codes of conduct and conducive to positive learning
• Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff
• Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required
• Communicate electronically with students, parents, and other staff members concerning student academic progress, attendance, and behavior
• Attend conferences and workshops in order to further advance professional development
• Work cooperatively with other personnel to improve instructional programs and the overall operation of the school
• Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus
• Administer frequent formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress. Analyze data to make instructional adjustments to improve student learning.
• Participate in faculty and professional development throughout the school year.
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
• Grade papers and maintain grade books.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: Based upon experience and qualifications

Contract: 185 days

About Churubusco Jr-Sr High School:

CJSHS is a grade 6-12 building with an enrollment of 633 students, and 33 teachers. Our school is a part of the Smith-Green Community School corporation located in both Whitley and Noble counties and within the city limits of Churubusco, Indiana. CJSHS is proud of the variety of course offerings and extracurricular activities we are able to offer our students in spite of our smaller size.
