    SeamonWhiteside is in search of an ambitious and talented professional to serve as a Civil Engineering Team Leader in our new Raleigh, NC office. 


    The Civil Engineering Team Leader is a position with primary focus on the management of SW personnel and clients. The Civil Team Leader is accountable for the overall success of the civil engineering team, and all assigned civil engineering projects within the team. This includes responsibility for the team’s organization, morale, development, and profitability. They ensure that all SW processes are being adopted and followed by the team. The Civil Team Leader will be expected to mentor the Civil Project Managers and demonstrate a strong sense of leadership amongst employees and peers both internally to SW and externally to the public. This position will continue to seek mentorship from Managing Directors to strengthen Client, Employee, and executive level management skill sets. 

    Requirements

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university

    Experience: 10 years’ experience, previous Civil Engineering with a Civil Engineering design firm or construction related experience highly desirable


    Essential Job Functions

    • Perform all skills defined in Civil Project Manager at a high level of proficiency
    • Monitor and assist Project Managers in construction admin responsibilities of all assigned projects throughout the entire course of construction (pre-con thru closeout) 
    • Monitor and intervene as necessary on the coordination with Clients, Contractors, and government agencies to provide solutions to field issues, review change orders and pay apps, evaluate as-builts, and coordinate project closeout
    • Facilitate Project Managers have regular access to suggested solutions to problem solving and troubleshooting issues arising in the field
    • Review of all proposals/contracts (scope of work, establish appropriate fees and evaluate risks for projects and assess company liability related to contract terms and conditions)
    • Monitor and intervene as necessary in the managing of Client’s expectations on project requirements, deliverables, agency regulations, scheduling and project deadlines
    • Monitor project tracking worksheets to manage current workloads and performance status of all assigned projects across the civil project team
    • Assignment of projects to Project Managers on the team appropriately based on resources and workload capacity
    • Review of all team’s invoices for client billing
    • Assist PM's with due diligence research on assigned projects with the ability to identify potential risk factors to a project
