Assoc. Professor - Communication teaches courses in the discipline area of communication. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Communication provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Communication typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. CBC seeks a Dean for Arts, Humanities, & Communication. The Dean is the line administrator who is responsible to the Vice President for Instruction for administering and coordinating comprehensive programs of instruction for the following disciplines: fine arts, music, theatre, English, world languages, communication studies, and Spanish Interpretation. This position oversees administrative assignments within the instructional program, as required, and participates as a member of the instructional administrative team in the general operation of the instructional program. The Dean reports to the Vice President for Instruction (VPI).

This is a full-time, overtime exempt, administrative staff position. The typical work hours for this position are Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; however, work hours may vary due to work demands, summer schedule and some evening and weekend work may be required
