About the Role

This pivotal leadership position involves overseeing clinical and administrative operations within the acute care department. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality care, manage a skilled clinical team, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with Senior Leadership to discuss unit progress, identify priorities, and provide critical insights that align with the organization’s mission and patient care standards.
• Budget Oversight: Manage financial resources efficiently across multiple units to support cost-effective patient care.
• Staff Development: Lead and mentor clinical staff, oversee performance evaluations, and guide professional growth initiatives.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality standards, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures through regular audits and process improvements.
• Clinical Supervision: Partner with the Acute Care Manager and House Administrator to coordinate staffing, provide clinical support, and address patient care needs.
• Collaborative Projects: Engage in cross-departmental projects to enhance patient outcomes by working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with eligibility for RN licensure in Montana.
• Master’s degree in Nursing, Business, or Leadership/Management (preferred).
• ACLS, ONS certification, and BLS certification required within three months of hire.

Work Experience

• 5 years of leadership experience in an acute care clinical setting, with prior unit-level directorship preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of bedside RN experience, particularly in Med/Surg or ICU settings.
• Proven ability to collaborate with physicians and lead projects focused on process improvement and patient care outcomes.
• Experience in unionized environments and managing diverse teams, including recent graduates.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated competency in project management and strategic planning.

Unit Overview

• ICU/PCU: 13 beds with flexibility to expand to 16.
• Med/Surg: 31 beds.
• Rehab: 10 beds.

Compensation Notes
The sign-on bonus is paid in installments, typically over 4-6 payments depending on the amount.
