Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. The Department of English Literature and Language at St. Mary's University, Texas, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Writing Studies, with a focus on developmental writing. The department especially welcomes candidates with research and teaching interests in pedagogies that foster Latinx student success. We also welcome candidates with proven or potential ability to teach upper-division courses in global Anglophone literature, e.g. literatures of the African diaspora or South Asian literatures. We seek an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher-scholar who will contribute to our academic community through teaching, research, and service.
Candidates for the position should have a Ph.D. in English or a related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates who are expected to receive their doctorate before the start of the appointment will also be considered.
