    Position Type/Hours:

    Full-time position. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


    Position Purpose:

    This position is responsible for the leadership, growth and development of assigned electrical and mechanical engineers that are designing the custom machines, writing software, selecting parts/hardware, supporting assembly, debugging and supporting the service function. This includes closely partnering with the Technology, Assembly, and Service functions and other internal stakeholders to ensure customer expectations are met and work is completed on time. This position effectively manages critical cross functional interfaces, communications, and clarity on expectations. This role is critical to ensuring all functions are aligned as the engineers complete the design.

    Essential Functions:

    • Lead operational Electrical Engineering team that works with project coordinators to design and draw schematics, select hardware, design and debug software, and support the Service function.
    • Lead operational Mechanical Engineering team that works with project coordinators to design the machine layout, machine parts, pneumatic layout, quote integrated equipment and support the Assembly function.
    • Ensure the engineers are closely aligned with the project coordinators and assembly function.
    • Ensure engineers are well communicating, conducting high priority problem solving and providing input for improvements at all times.
    • Ensure all engineers understand the customer requirements, have a high sense of customer service and on time requirements.
    • Collaborate with the Production Control team to assign work to appropriate engineering staff based on skill level and communicate any scheduling conflicts.
    • Mentor and develop direct reports by providing challenging and engaging activities that promote career growth as well as identifying opportunities for training and development.
    • Provide consistent feedback to all engineering staff for performance improvement, positive reinforcement, and development.
    • Establish goals and objectives for each engineer and communicate status regularly.
    • Provide technical resources and support to engineering staff as needed.
    • Represent engineering on cross-functional teams.
    • Collaborate with People and Operations to recruit and onboard additional engineering staff as needed.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
    • 5 years of management experience leading engineering teams.
    • Experience and knowledge of custom automated commercial equipment.
