DISTINGUISHING JOB CHARACTERISTICS
Under the direction of the Warren County Child Support Enforcement Agency (hereinafter, WCCSEA) Director, provide direct supervision to assigned line staff. Prepare cases for court dockets, perform in-court typing as needed, and is comfortable to testify when needed. Work closely with court personnel including magistrates and judges. Ability to learn the Ohio child support guidelines and can calculate support orders for establishment or modification court hearings. Perform basic troubleshooting of court technologies such as laptops and printers while in the courtroom. Attend WCCSEA court hearings and ensure that information such as address changes are entered into the Support Enforcement Tracking System (SETS). Record WCCSEA court docket information and relay it in a timely manner to the WCCSEA Fiscal Officer for IV-D contract management.
Actively participate in the hiring process of WCCSEA line staff. Aid in providing initial and ongoing training to staff on Agency policies and procedures. Conduct regular unit meetings and individual conferences with line staff to inform and counsel them regarding unit and individual performance, and corrective action issues. Monitor and approve leave requests and schedules to ensure coverage. Consistently review and evaluate staffing levels and redistribute workloads as needed. Evaluate Agency-provided services and make recommendations for more effective and efficient ways to provide same. Assist line staff on implementing new policies and/or projects. Ensure work of assigned line staff is completed in a timely and effective manner. Complete Default activities including, but not limited to, case transfers, working alerts, case closures, etc.
Attend management meetings, trainings, teleconferences, and conferences to keep informed of changes and updates. Aid in the development and implementation of Agency policies and procedures. Work with other members of Management to ensure continuity of operations.
