Position: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Shifts Available:

• 2 Day Shift Positions (0545-1715)
• 3 Night Shift Positions (1745-0615)
• 4:3 Rotating Schedule

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid LVN license in Texas, reflecting your qualifications as a vocational nurse.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), ensuring readiness for emergency situations.
• IV Therapy Certification, allowing you to administer intravenous therapies effectively.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Med/Surg or LTAC settings, showcasing your practical experience in patient care.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Up-to-date on COVID-19, Varicella, MMR, T-Dap, TB, HepB, Current Physical, and Flu vaccinations.

Position Overview:

This role is ideal for an LVN seeking a multifaceted position that includes clinic responsibilities, inpatient care, medication administration, outpatient services, wound care, ER support, and critical care. The successful candidate will provide essential nursing services, diagnostic and preventive procedures designed for the safety and well-being of inmates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing services and perform procedures that are crucial for inmate health and safety.
• Accurately interpret and execute physicians’ orders to ensure effective treatment plans.
• Administer prescribed medications in a precise manner to ensure patient safety.
• Assist physicians during sick calls, supporting diagnostic and treatment processes.
• Apply surgical dressings and bandages with attention to proper wound management.
• Deliver immediate emergency first aid and care when necessary, demonstrating quick and effective responses.
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately, maintaining detailed medical records.
• Guide inmates on discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition from care.
• Observe and report changes in inmates’ conditions, reactions to treatments, and medication effects.
• Educate and supervise correctional staff on inmate healthcare needs and procedures.
• Manage medical supplies and maintain meticulous records to ensure efficient operation.
