Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Mathematics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Mathematics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics

  • Nebraska Wesleyan University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professorship of Mathematics, beginning August 2024. Prior to accepting the position, candidates will have the opportunity to discuss with the Provost the possibility of extending the duration to two years.

    Nebraska Wesleyan University is a liberal arts university of approximately 1,600 undergraduate and graduate students in Lincoln, Nebraska.     Responsibilities:

    This position is open to all areas of specialization in Mathematics or Statistics. Faculty are expected to teach a variety of lower- and upper-level mathematics courses.

    * Master's or Doctoral degree in Mathematics or Statistics

    * Evidence of effective teaching of a variety of mathematics and/or statistics courses

    * Strong commitment to student-centered active learning and student engagement activities

    * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituents
