Assoc. Professor - Mechanical Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of mechanical engineering. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Mechanical Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Mechanical Engineering typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Assistant or Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering - Mechanics

  • Milwaukee School of Engineering invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for Fall 2024 teaching in the Mechanical Engineering Program. The full-time faculty position is open to applicants in Mechanical Engineering with expertise in Solid Mechanics or Computational Mechanics.

    The position requires an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field), relevant experience, and a strong interest in effective undergraduate teaching, integrating theory, applications, and laboratory practice.  Candidates are expected to have an undergraduate engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program. In addition to teaching duties, successful candidates will be expected to become involved with academic advising, course/curriculum development, supervision of student projects, and continued professional growth through a combination of consulting, scholarship, and research.  Excellent communication skills are required.
