Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Nursing provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Nursing typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing
The Department of Nursing at Hartwick College invites applications and nominations for a full-time, three-year term renewable appointments at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, starting in August 2024, with expertise in Foundations of Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and/or Health Assessment. Teaching load will be 20-23 semester credit hours.
Specific teaching assignments may also include courses in medical-surgical nursing, health assessment, and foundations in nursing science. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, and to working closely with students.
Minimum qualifications for all positions include M.S. in Nursing at the time of the appointment, an unencumbered NYS RN license, and recent relevant clinical or educational experience and certification. Preference will be given to applicants with a doctorate in nursing or a closely-related field, at least three years of full-time college-level classroom and/or distance/on-line teaching experience and additional areas of nursing specialization.
