    Allen College seeks applications for Adjunct faculty to teach DPT 774 Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy (Spring 2022) in the hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program. The DPT program uses a combination of online and on-campus learning experiences. The curricular delivery is conducted via synchronous or ansynchronous learning experiences and onsite lab immersions.

    The hybrid learning model allows faculty to live remotely from campus. However, DPT Adjunct faculty must be able to travel and stay in Waterloo, IA for designated periods during the semester(s) when teaching courses that include a laboratory experience or if requested for other purposes.

    Adjunct faculty are involved in the development and evaluation of the students within the educational principles and policies and procedures of the program. Faculty are actively involved in teaching courses within the curriculum as designed by the core faculty, guidance and academic advising of students, and reporting to the School’s Dean.

    In compliance with the Clery Act, Allen College publishes an Annual Security report containing three previous years of crime statistics, institutional policies concerning campus safety, and a fire safety report.     Responsibilities
    • Implement individual course content as designed by the core faculty.
    • Provide input and contribute in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of individual courses and overall curriculum within the college as requested.
    • Participate in faculty evaluation and development.
    • Teach:
      • Classroom and laboratory experience, instruction, supervision and evaluation.
      • Other activities directly related to the academic program as requested.
    • Effectively work with the daily mental and physical stresses of the job which includes, but not limited to meeting deadlines, attending meetings, completing compliance requirements, meeting and working with staff, faculty, students and the public.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Physical therapy degree and license in any U.S. jurisdiction if applying for a course to assist or teach physical therapy content.
    • Minimal degree and license (if appropriate) in another discipline if applying to teach other content (e.g. orthotics, pharmacology, wound care, etc.).
    • Demonstrate contemporary expertise in an area of teaching responsibility.
    • Three years full-time clinical experience if teaching clinical content.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional Doctoral degree (DPT).
    • Terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) or equivalent, or currently enrolled in degree program.
    • Eligibility for licensure in Iowa.
    • Experience with distance learning.
