Scope of Position: FEC Financial Coaches will be responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate individualized financial education and coaching needed to empower individuals to manage their income and experience financial independence for successful operations of the Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) in partnership with the Cities for Financial Empowerment (CFE) Fund and the City of Pueblo.
The ideal candidate would be dynamic, committed, and bilingual, speaking and writing in English and Spanish, with strong interpersonal skills. This candidate would have a passion for helping others and making a difference, working with clients to evaluate their needs, develop personal goals and provide tools to be successful in building a foundation of financial stability and the opportunity for upward economic mobility. A background in banking or finance is not required, training and a path to financial counseling certification will be provided.
Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) Background
The Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund(CFE Fund) is promoting Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) replication through cohorts of local leaders. The FEC program aims to improve the financial stability of households by providing free, high-quality, one-on-one financial education and coaching. Professionally trained coaches support their clients in navigating complex financial challenges and choices, helping them identify and meet present challenges and future ambitions. FEC clients receive assistance with money management, budgeting, reducing debt, establishing and improving credit, connecting to safe and affordable banking services, building savings, and referrals to other services.
