Assoc. Professor - Social Work teaches courses in the discipline area of social work. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Social Work provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Social Work typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks.     This position is responsible for assessing, planning, evaluating and documenting activities and services of a social worker. Provides leadership, maintain a caseload, and facilitates timely problem solving. Develops key relationships for optimum functioning of social work activities. Assists residents, caregivers, and all staff in their efforts to maximize participant functioning by bringing an understanding of social/emotional factors related to health problems and each clients unique history and situation. Functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.

    Required qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field Or

    • 2 years of Social work experience providing services to a diverse geriatric population

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Master's Degree in Social Work or related field

    Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

    HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses.
