Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks.     Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with Clinical Leaders and staff to assess learning needs and competencies.
    • Develop and provide services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff.
    • Act as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
    • Participate in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.
    • Validate and verify appropriate education through various methods, including working alongside staff, shadowing, verbalization, and direct observation.
    • Collaborate with Clinical Leaders to ensure the successful rollout of educational programs/initiatives.
    • Assist in the orientation/mentoring of new hires along with the preceptor, ensuring competencies and training are completed timely.
    • Act as a clinical resource to the clinical leaders, preceptors, and staff.
    • Serve as a backup for Employee Health for new employee screenings in the absence of Infection Preventionist/EH RN.
    • Collaborate with the Quality department and Human Resources to support compliance with all Education/Training regulatory requirements for staff.
    • Spend time on the clinical units during various shifts with staff when necessary for education.
    • Integrate evidence-based practices into protocols in collaboration with Clinical Educators.

    • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
    • Understanding of all types of learners.
