    Position Overview:

    As a Controls Technician at the Topeka Manufacturing Facility, you'll be instrumental in supporting and maintaining critical electrical and control systems. You’ll ensure the optimal operation of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other plant-floor electrical systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs such as Allen Bradley ControlLogix and GuardLogix, and manage HMI systems.
    • Troubleshoot electrical, control, and pneumatic components, including vision systems, industrial robots, and measurement tools (e.g., flow meters, load cells, level probes).
    • Act as a technical resource for operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
    • Provide training on controls and electrical systems for maintenance and operations personnel.
    • Document all maintenance and troubleshooting activities, including software and hardware changes.
    • Ensure safety standards are met and exceed company safety policies.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma.
    • At least 5 years of plant technical experience (or 3 years with a 2-year technical degree).
    • Proven experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs, including Safety PLCs with ladder logic programming.
    • Strong ability to interpret and apply electrical schematics and comply with NEC standards.
    • Expertise in troubleshooting various electrical circuits, including:
    • 3-phase 480 VAC
    • 120 VAC
    • 24 VAC
    • VDC control circuits

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Wonderware/AVEVA System Platform.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL databases.
    • Familiarity with Cisco LAN infrastructure and LAN concepts.
    • Ability to create or modify CAD drawings.

    Candidate Profile:

    • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience in a technical field.
    • Background: Hands-on expertise in controls and electrical systems.
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Flexibility: Availability to work various shifts, including weekends, and travel if necessary.
