Associate Director of Graduate Admissions

  • Capital University is seeking an Associate Director of Graduate Admissions to recruit and enroll qualified and diverse students in its current and future graduate and post-baccalaureate programs, as well as certificate and continuing education programs. The Associate Director will report to the Director of Graduate Admissions and will assist in processing applications and advising incoming students in conjunction with deans, program directors, and faculty. They will develop, maintain, and execute innovative tactics to proactively engage and yield prospective students to meet targeted enrollment goals. They will plan, implement, and attend external and on-campus recruitment events, and generate effective communication strategies, including use of the customer relationship management system (Slate), social media, workshops and presentations. The Associate Director will engage with external organizations for the purpose of generating enrollment in graduate and post-baccalaureate business programs. The position requires occasional travel, as well as evening and weekend responsibilities.


    Responsibilities:

    • Manage inquiries and applications for across all Adult and Graduate programs. Process applications and advise incoming students in conjunction with program directors and the Graduate Admissions team.
    • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet targeted enrollment goals. Proactively identify and yield qualified, diverse students for Capital University's portfolio of Adult and Graduate programs.
    • Travel to organizations, graduate and career fairs, and other events to promote Capital programs.
    • Create and deliver effective info sessions, on campus events, and other presentations.
    • Utilize the CRM (Slate) by developing reports and queries that increases efficiency in processing leads and applications in a timely manner.
    • Track and assess the effectiveness of recruitment and admissions activities, and recommend and implement improvements to meet enrollment goals.
    • Assist in developing strategic and impactful communication flows, and other marketing initiatives.
    • Assist with the training and general onboarding of new staff.
    • Work effectively with campus partners to meet mutual objectives, including deans, program directors, student development directors, marketing, financial aid, registrar, and admissions operations. Serve on appropriate University committees and task forces as needed.
    • Actively participate in onboarding activities for new Adult and Graduate students, including new student orientation.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Graduate Admissions, program directors, and other stakeholders to identify and engage with external organizations for the purpose of generating enrollment in assigned programs.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required; Master's degree preferred.
    • Three years of experience in admissions recruitment for Adult or Graduate higher education programs preferred.
    • Professional written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively present information to a wide range of constituents, including senior organizational leaders, public groups, and people from diverse cultures and worldviews.
    • Ability to work professionally with others as part of a team, be adaptable, and work well with diverse constituents.
    • Demonstrated success taking initiative, collaboratively setting and attaining performance goals, working without close supervision, and managing multiple priorities under deadlines.
    • Ability to define problems and make data-informed decisions to improve outcomes.
    • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Power Point. Proficient in using CRM and ERP technology. Slate and Ellucian Colleague experience preferred.
