**Buyer Responsibilities:

Pepare accurate solicitations, which reflect all technical and administrative requirements.
Evaluate bids, select suppliers, and place purchase orders to approved suppliers accordingly.
Manage supplier submittals for compliance with technical and commercial specifications.
Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers.
Manage the vendor approval process for the commodities assigned.
Coordinate the communications of technical and commercial information between internal functional stakeholders and the supplier to ensure successful order processing by sub contract machining suppliers.
Allocate material to subcontract suppliers for machining.
Complete bid analysis with supporting documentation in support of the Purchasing requirements.
Coordinate resolution of supplier technical problems, claims, and specification issues as needed.
Track open orders and report status, on a monthly and as-needed basis, to support business needs.
Manage open invoice issues and delivery discrepancies.

Commodity experience in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with Government Purchasing regulations FARS and DFARS.
Microsoft Excel basic spreadsheet capabilities.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Able to clearly communicate with suppliers and in-house technical personnel.
Meet Purchasing goals and business expectations for cost, quality, and service
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance, if required.
