    Location: Yankton, SD
    Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000
    Shift: 1st Shift Monday – Friday (7am-3:30pm)

    Position Description
    As a Buyer, you will manage the replenishment process for production related materials, along with cultivating new and existing supply base relationships. Responsibilities will include:
    • Participate in internal and external supplier development meetings.
    • Ensure Non-Disclosures, surveys, and other certifications are requested and maintained for suppliers.
    • Review planned materials reports and create purchase orders based on demands.
    • Monitor and review open purchase orders, communicate open order reports weekly and correspond with suppliers on delays or changes impacting status.
    • Oversee shelf life reporting and disposition of expired materials.
    • Review specifications to ensure current revision is utilized for compliance with purchased material.
    • Update part master with pricing, lead time, and specification changes.
    • Review and enter quote information and ensure customer specifications and requirements compliance.
    • Generate RFQs to supplier base for new and existing products/services.
    • Manage MRO requisitions and purchases.
    • Negotiate with new and existing supply base for best pricing, price break options, and lead time.
    • Support projects and cross-functional team improvements to processes and procedures.
    • Ability to support multiple software/ERP systems.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including 5s activities.
    Position Requirements
    • Associates degree in business management or four years of experience in a related field is preferred.
    • Must possess basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
    • The ability to teach and train others as needed.
    • Must work with little to no supervision after initial training, showing a high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and excellent work ethic.
    • Previous MRP/ERP experience preferred.
    • A high level of interaction and excellent communication skills with all departments across the company is necessary.
    • Must understand blueprints, interpret specifications, and have the ability to create a Bill of Materials.
    • Must possess a positive attitude and look for innovative ways to continually meet or exceed customer expectations.
    Work Conditions
    The work environment characteristics described herein represent those an employee encounters while
    performing the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will work in an office environment as well as being exposed to the manufacturing floor. This position is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Travel may occasionally be expected for this position.

    Physical Requirements
    This is largely a sedentary role where the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; however, while performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; the employee is occasionally required reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
