The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Career and Technical Education, Division of Student Transition and Career Readiness, Career Programs and Pathways Branch has an opening for an Education Academic Program Manager position in Frankfort, KY.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the general direction of the division direction, supervises professional staff and provides consultative services, technical assistance and direction to local educational agencies in planning, developing and implementing the Office of Career and Educations Career Pathways initiative for the 16 Career Clusters recognized by Kentucky.
- Supervise staff in branch, approve timesheets, staff assignments, conduct employee performance evaluations and represent the division in meetings. Coordinate the work of program staff carrying out responsibilities of the branch and manage the activities of various work groups/committees. Provide leadership to the branch in the development of Career and Technical Education curriculum and related resources in support of the 16 Career Clusters, including alignment with business and industry standards: Kentucky Department of Education goals and College and Career Readiness accountability.
- Provide administrative direction to curriculum resource adoption and development to include program of studies; formative and summative assessments; equipment and materials resources; digital resources and other resources as requested. Manages project budgets and facilitates budgetary procedures for the branch.
- Coordinate technical and facility resources to include: Valid Course Code revisions; CTE facilities planning; CIITS utilization; SharePoint: Cloud based resources; and other resources as assigned.
- Provide collaboration with other educational agencies, business and industry, state agencies and post secondary partners to create seamless pathway opportunities for students.
- Plans and coordinates teacher professional development opportunities in support of College and Career Readiness.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Teachers’ Retirement System. This position is eligible for consideration for a hybrid schedule that allows for a combination of in-office and approved alternative work scheduling.
