Position: Police Officer Starting Pay: $27 per hour Pay Range: $29.33 to $32.45 per hour (certified officers, based on experience)

About Eldora: Eldora, Iowa, is the county seat of Hardin County and is conveniently located 40 miles west of Cedar Falls and 30 miles north of Marshalltown. With a population of approximately 2,600 residents, Eldora offers a close-knit community and a supportive environment. Our police department operates 24/7 with six full-time officers dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain public safety
• Respond to emergency calls and incidents
• Conduct investigations and complete accurate reports
• Engage with the community to foster positive relationships
• Attend training sessions and continuous education

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid Iowa driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
• Certified as a police officer in Iowa (preferred but not required for entry-level)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in various conditions and situations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $32.45 per hour
