Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of Arts and Sciences. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Art Teacher Mixed Media and Ceramics for Children's Creative Arts and Crafts Camp ages 7-12
The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences, located on Long Beach Island NJ (LBIF) seeks the hire qualified professionals, passionate about the arts, with a strong background in visual arts and education. The ideal candidates will have the experience and expertise to guide students in creating outstanding artwork, while also being able to teach art appreciation to students, ages 7-12.
We are looking for 2 qualified professionals with teaching experience. Our ideal candidate will have a degree in Ceramics, the Arts or education or is working toward a degree.
Hours of Camp are 8:45 am until noon starting June 24th for 9 weeks. The Art Teacher reports to the Camp Coordinator and the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
- Create and facilitate 9 weeks of engaging lessons, based on a theme for the week as led by curriculum outline provided.
- Lead small groups of students to complete weekly art projects.
- Teach students about art and art history.
- Teach about elements of art and design.
- Teach children art techniques in drawing, painting and sculpting.
- Knowledge of art history.
- Maintain classroom safety with responsibility for clean up after each class.
- Maintain a clean studio environment at all times.
Desired Qualifications:
- Art faculty member at a college, high school or middle school.
- Outgoing, enthusiastic and friendly personality.
- · Enjoys teaching and working with children
- · Patient, curious, adaptable, creative, engaging, organized and kind.
- Must live within a commutable distance to Loveladies, NJ
- Must be available Mon-Fri from, 8:45 am - 12:15 pm from June 24 to August 23.
