Associate Dean of Business assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of business. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Business provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Business typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Business typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. POSITION: Human Resource/Accounting Associate
STATUS: Nonexempt
REPORTS TO: Chief Business Development Officer
This position must have an overall understanding of Human Resource and bookkeeping practices, policies, and procedures. They will be responsible for providing human resources support and bookkeeping support to a variety of existing clients. They must have a desire to help clients with their processes and their people, in order to spark progress within the organizations we serve. They must have an aptitude for numbers and should be familiar with QuickBooks®. They must also have excellent writing and communication skills.
PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide human resource support to clients, including writing job descriptions and employee handbooks, documenting policies and procedures, completing interviews, and responding to client HR questions and needs.
2. Provide basic accounting and bookkeeping support to clients, including assisting with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processing.
3. Reviews reports, fund or account statements and bank statements; investigates irregularities and reports to supervisor; makes adjustments and necessary journal entries.
SECONDARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Communicating with clients in a variety of ways including phone, email, instant messaging, virtual meetings, and in person.
2. Assisting with blog articles for the MBS website, as needed
3. Obtain and maintain certification in QuickBooks Online
4. Accomplish accounting and organization purpose and deliver on brand promise by completing related tasks as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or GED equivalent required
2. Minimum of 2-Year Accounting or Human Resource degree or equivalent experience preferred
3. Proficient in MS Office or Google Workspace
4. Working knowledge of payroll and timekeeping practices
5. Working knowledge of employee relations, diversity, and employment laws with proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and tact
