Associate Dean of Business assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of business. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Business provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Business typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Business typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Dean in the College of Business Management is responsible for leading and promoting the vision, mission and goals of a comprehensive and diverse academic unit that includes the Business Administration, Finance, and Accounting disciplines. The Dean will have a commitment to advancing a world-class College with a focus on maintaining AACSB accreditation, growing enrollment, attracting and retaining highly qualified, diverse faculty, and creating initiatives and programs to maximize the College's potential. The Dean is responsible for the fiscal health of the College and will lead and oversee the budget process for the College ensuring continued fiscal health while leveraging the fiscal landscape to further growth and development. The Dean is also responsible for actively supporting interdisciplinary research and education, and the Dean is accountable for the impact of the College in the Mohawk Valley. This position has the authority to assist in determining, creating, affecting policy for the SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Other reasonable duties as assigned.
