Associate Dean of Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. We have an opportunity for a top candidate to join Maryville College’s staff as the new Associate Dean of Students/Director of Residence Life.
The Associate Dean of Students provides leadership for programs and services designed to positively impact student wellbeing and engagement at Maryville College. This newly established leadership role is a great opportunity for an experienced Student Affairs professional to support MC community standards of trust, respect, integrity while fostering a residential environment that is inclusive, engaging and promotes student learning and growth outside of the classroom. The Dean will be adaptable with demonstrated experience in leadership and team development, change management, and strategic planning.
The Associate Dean reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs. The Associate Dean of Students serves as the Senior Student Conduct Officer, Director of Residence Life, chairs the MC Cares Team; supervises the Director of Counseling Services. The Associate Dean also plays an integral role in student engagement by fostering a residential environment that is inclusive, positive, engaging and promotes student learning and growth outside of the classroom. The Associate Dean provides training and development of the live-in Resident Directors (RD), the Resident Assistants (RA) and campus collaborators.
