Associate Dean of Engineering assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of engineering. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Engineering provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Engineering typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Engineering typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Our Infrastructure practice provides a full range of planning, design, and agency support services. You will design civil engineering projects essential for the continued safe and efficient operation of the nation’s most important infrastructure systems. You will assist with various design related assignments, analyses, and field duties on infrastructure projects, primarily airports and roadways in Texas. You will assist in the development of construction plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, bid documents, various calculations, and quantity takeoffs under the direction of licensed civil engineers.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
    • Basic knowledge of civil engineering design, systems, calculations, along with the application of engineering methods and construction methods and materials
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Open Roads
    • Must have a Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
    • Demonstrated leadership skills
    • Strong work ethic aligning with the company’s mission and core values
    • Business acumen and facilitation skills working with a broad set of clients, stakeholders and members of the public

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior internship and/or related engineering experience
    • EI Certification (strongly preferred)
