Associate Dean of Engineering assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of engineering. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Engineering provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Engineering typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Engineering typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Are you great working with your hands to build mission critical assemblies, cables, components, and circuit cards that support the aerospace/defense, automotive, commercial & industrial industries? We have an excellent opportunity for you to become one of our Production Associates gaining valuable experience building critical & detailed electrical/electronic products supporting the U.S. military and commercial customers.
You'll assemble electrical or electronic systems and assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering and micro-welding equipment by routes and tie wires to form wire harnesses. Reading instructions, such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly.
You'll apply crimping, sealing liquid, or soldering to secure components.
You'll insert cable in plastic tubing or inject plastic sealant around terminals to protect cables from dust and moisture.
You'll test wiring continuity, using continuity testers.
You'll mark identifying data on completed products for stock inventory or for delivery to customers.
You'll read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports in order to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.
You'll select components/wires of specified color, marking, or length, and loops wires between guide pegs on harness board, following color-coded lines or sequential numbers on board or diagrams for assembly.
You'll clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
You'll inspect and test wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits for resistance factors and for operation; and record results.
You'll pack finished assemblies for shipment and transport them to storage areas.
You'll identify, adjust, and repair/replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
You'll assist with assembly procedures or techniques to explain to and/or train other workers. There may be other duties assigned.
Job Qualifications: We appreciate any prior work experience in production and processing, with knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques in manufacture and distribution of goods. We will train the right candidates who have an eye for detail, and who like working with their hands.
