Associate Dean of Fine Arts assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Fine Arts provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The John Michael Kohler Arts Center (Sheboygan, WI) is seeking an experienced, Visitor Associate III - Cafe to provide patrons with a positive memorable experience while viewing galleries, learning about artists, shopping, and enjoying food and beverage.  This role has broad knowledge and experience and works within the café, retail shop, front desk at the Art Center, Art Preserve, and Art Cart.  At times, oversees management of café when working alone.  This role will provide backup when other staff are out.  This role cross trains other staff members in the Customer Relations Management (CRM) system and Point of Service (POS) and is primary subject matter expert for the system.  

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Plan, prepare and serve food and beverages.
    2. Cross train staff in the Café, SHOP, and Front Desk on CRM/POS and operational procedures. 
    3. Produce and audit daily sales reports from CRM/POS system, prepare deposits, and ensure accurate cash drawer balances and credit card transactions.  
    4. Clean kitchen and prepare food in accordance with County Health Code. 
    5. Respond to inquiries and educate patrons about menu, programming, merchandise, exhibits, and local resources; sell tickets, camps, classes, membership, preschool tuition, and merchandise utilizing CRM and POS systems.
    6. Act as backup manager for café. 
    7. Develop innovative menu items with consideration to cost and inventory control.  
    8. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • 3 years of experience in culinary field
    • 2 years of experience in customer service including opening and closing using CRM/POS.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Maintain and/or obtain WI bartender’s license
    • Maintain and/or obtain ServSafe Certified Manager Certification
    • Strong customer service skills

    The position is café/retail/art gallery based and noise level usually moderate.  May occasionally work outside at events where noise level could be moderate to loud. 
    Hours of work include daytime hours Monday – Friday and occasionally Saturday and Sunday to meet staffing and/or event needs.

    The position works at various locations depending on the schedule.  This position must be able to commute between locations if needed.
