Associate Dean of Fine Arts assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Fine Arts provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. JOB DESCRIPTION
The Arts Direct Support Provider (DSP) is responsible for assisting and coordinating with the Program Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor to develop and oversee the program, including program curriculum, inventory of supplies, events and member development. This position will communicate activities with the Recreation Supervisor to ensure implementation of the dance curriculum that helps members meet their ISP goals. The Dance Instructor Direct Support Provider will facilitate all necessary actions in order to bring success for the program members and the Dance program while also supporting the achievements of program members and realizing the Vision and Mission of OSBI. The Dance Instructor Direct Support Provider is responsible for providing all of the same services to members as are all DSPs, including direct support, positive direction, and assistance to members in accordance with program policies, procedures and DDD standards, teaching safety awareness, and participating in community engagement activities and/or program location-based activities when needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Partners with the Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor to assist in delivering program curriculum based on individual needs of program members in accordance with ISP goals and objectives by implementing daily schedule provided by the Recreation Supervisor.
· Collaborate as well as assist the coordinator with special events and showcases onsite or in the community.
· Assist the Coordinator in partnership with the Recreation Supervisor to plan event communications and other print materials, as well as all other tasks necessary to plan and execute any special events and showcases onsite or in the community.
· Serve as backup to coordinator when absent and serves as back up to all direct support staff Recreation or Like Skills should the need arise for staffing ratios.
· Seek outside resources to grow personal knowledge and awareness of growing trends and best practices to continuously improve the program.
· Collaborate with Coordinator to continuously evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements and adjustments to program strategies.
· Continuously seek opportunities to increase the responsiveness of the program curriculum and performance opportunities for all program participants and engage others in the community to embrace and further the mission and vision of the OSBI Program.
· Encourage other LSA’s to work together to support the team in all direct service practices, including member’s safety measures, curriculum delivery support, positive behavior support, and progress report accuracy.
· Report and document concise daily member’s progress including completing daily data collection logs, communication books, etc.
· Communicate effectively and respectfully with members and parents/guardians to address concerns, maintain positive relationships, and serve as an advocate for members and a resource for parents/guardians.
· Transport program members safely in a company vehicle to/from program for community-based activities as well as transportation to and from program.
· Consider safety and proactive supervision when supporting members by assisting and accompanying them on campus or community activities.
· Model and demonstrate appropriate behavior management techniques (Article 9 training) with program members and mentor staff to do the same.
· Demonstrate self-awareness of strengths and challenges and implement strategies to enhance strengths and address challenges.
· Seek opportunities to share knowledge, experience, and best practices with colleagues to enhance organizational and program effectiveness.
· Project a professional, knowledgeable, and capable image consistent with the One Step Beyond mission in public interactions.
· Consider the welfare, growth and development of program members as a top priority in all support and instructional activities.
· Handle difficult situations with a positive attitude by actively seeking problem resolution, creative solutions, and program and organizational enhancements to ensure individual and team performance as well as program effectiveness.
