Associate Dean of Fine Arts assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Fine Arts provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA) seeks a full-time Administrative Associate to provide high-level administrative support to the Director of Development and four fundraising staff including: two Leadership Gift Officers, a Planned Giving Officer and the Director of Foundation/Government Relations.
The Associate will create and update solicitation roadmaps, manage data in the donor database, and compile reports, event lists, and budget activity. Additional responsibilities include coordinating team meetings, drafting simple correspondence, supporting mailings, electronic filing, and other related administrative duties as requested.
