Associate Dean of Fine Arts assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Fine Arts provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Fine Arts typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers in finding and selecting products
- Maintain a clean and organized sales floor
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales opportunities
- Communicate product information, promotions, and policies to customers
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and monitoring stock levels
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and provide a positive shopping experience
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail sales is required
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to sell products effectively and meet sales goals
- Upselling skills to promote additional products or services
- Multilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, is a plus
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is an advantage
- Knowledge of jewelry sales and antiques is desirable but not required
