Associate Dean of Law jobs in California
Associate Dean of Law assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of law. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Law provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Law typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Law typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Associate Dean of Law typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a litigation caseload, including single plaintiff and class action cases, from beginning to end.
- Prepare and review legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, motions, and agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
- Provide legal advice and counseling on employment law matters to clients.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediations, championing clients interests.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide updates on case developments, and offer guidance on legal strategies and options.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the firm to share knowledge, insights, and resources, contributing to the overall success of the team and firm.
- Stay informed about changes in employment law and legal procedures to ensure up-to-date representation and advice.
Job Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- California State Bar License
- 2 years or more of experience at a law firm with a focus on employment law.
- Knowledge of Federal and State labor and employment laws (preferred).
- Native Spanish (preferred)
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Proficiency in legal case management software and tools, preferably Lawcus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
