Associate Dean of Law assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of law. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Law provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Law typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Law typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Associate Dean of Law typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Solo practitioner with heavy emphasis on workers' compensation, and some personal injury defense, looking for a part-time associate, with potential to become full time. Preferred candidates should be capable of on-line legal research and experienced with all aspects of workers' compensation, summarizing/evaluating medicals, accident investigation, experience with depositions, including doctors, hearings and trials, Second Injury Fund and subrogation. Some flexibility available to work from home, though some office hours will be required. Though experience preferred, willing to consider lesser qualified individuals.
