Job Summary:
This senior leader will serve as a catalyst and a capacity builder to further advance the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion across the college. To that end, the Dean will build the DEI office that will act as an administrative, intellectual, and community orientated hub. In this capacity the Dean will synthesize the college's efforts into a strategic DEI plan by partnering with the Cabinet, CTS, faculty, and staff.
Essential Functions:
1. Develop and promote DEI events and programs on and off campus for the benefit of faculty, staff, students, and communities served by LMC
2. Work with the Provost, Deans, and faculty to ensure that academic programs and services promote DEI
3. Work with the President and other campus administrators to develop a vision and plan for ensuring that the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded in the culture and operations of the college
4. Provide DEI professional development and education across the college
5. Establish an effective, collaborative relationships within the LMC community
6. Advance the culture of assessment and evaluation of DEI programs and events through the promotion of DEI in academic and non-academic departments by partnering with academic and student affairs leaders
7. Participates in college/community committees as assigned.
8. Develops and monitors the DEI budget
9. Serve as the principal spokesperson and representative for the President on all DEI issues and facilitate internal and external communication strategies
10. Partner with the Executive Director of Human Resources to develop and implement DEI best practices related to faculty and staff recruitment and retention
11. Partner with academic and student affairs in the pursuit of external funding opportunities
12. Recommend diversity related budget and staffing enhancements to the President
13. Partner with academic and student affairs to enhance the success of under-represented students

Under the limited supervision of the President, assures quality and consistency of DEI programs.
Job Specifications:
Masters degree required, five or more years of related experience required. Strong interpersonal, management, and organizational skills required. Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
