Associate Dean of Mathematics assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of mathematics. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Mathematics provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Mathematics typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Mathematics typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Staff Accountant
Duties:
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of recorded transactions
- Utilize Sage accounting software to process and record financial transactions
- Manage accounts payable process, including reviewing and processing invoices, and ensuring timely payments
- Assist with financial accounting tasks, such as preparing financial statements and reports
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions in the general ledger
- Perform general ledger reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare journal entries to record financial transactions accurately
- Stay updated on technical accounting standards and ensure compliance with GAAP
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation processes
- Proficiency in conducting bank reconciliations
- Experience working with Sage accounting software
- Familiarity with accounts payable procedures and practices
- Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and practices
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records
- Ability to perform general ledger reconciliations effectively
- Proficient in preparing journal entries for accurate financial reporting
- Knowledge of technical accounting standards and their application in practice
- Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
