The associate dean of the College of Business (CoB) works collaboratively with the dean, assistant dean, department chairs, directors, managers, faculty, and staff and provides leadership and direction to develop, prioritize, and implement initiatives aligned with the Tennessee Tech and CoB strategic plans. The associate dean manages specific accreditation and assessment processes to support ongoing AACSB and SACSCOC accreditation status and advance assurance of learning and other continuous improvement processes; ensures the implementation, assessment, and improvement of academic programs; develops and implements operational improvements; and works with the dean, members of the CoB Executive Committee, Chairs of Excellence, academic and nonacademic campus units (e.g., University Advancement, Research and Economic Development, and Communications and Marketing), and external partners to advance the mission of the college. The associate dean is expected to remain current in their academic area of expertise and teach one (graduate or undergraduate) course annually.
Minimum Qualifications
- Terminal degree from an AACSB-accredited institution in a business or closely aligned discipline with academic credentials sufficient to be tenured at the associate or full professor level in a department within the College of Business.
- Record of successful scholarship, effective teaching, and collaborative university, professional, and community service.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an academic or professional management role(s).
- Experience in accreditation processes, with a particular focus on AACSB accreditation.
- Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Experience developing and sustaining partnerships with internal and external constituents.

Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD53.
