Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of an undergraduate program. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Brief Statement of Duties

    Brief Statement of Duties:
    Provide administrative leadership in compliance with federal regulations for the McNair Scholars Program including grant writing and program development; undergraduate research programs staff development and supervision; budget development, maintenance, and management; and direct student contact and counseling. Provide campus leadership for undergraduate research initiatives and support for undergraduate research events.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Required Education:
    Master's Degree

    Discipline / Degree Area:
    Student Affairs Administration, Counseling, Psychology, or a McNair Scholars related field

    Required Specialized Training/Certifications:

    Required Minimum Work Experience:
    Three years' experience in administration of TRIO or student affairs programs.
    Three years' effective supervisory/leadership experience.
    Experience working with low-income, first-generation, and under-represented students at the college level.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
    Strong interpersonal, collaboration and networking skills.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
    Self-directed and highly organized.
    Demonstrated experience working with funded programs.
    Strong data collection, management and reporting skills.
    Time management skills.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management, social media and/or Email communication with the ability to learn additional programs.
    Ability to work with sensitive and confidential student information.

    Additional Desirable Qualifications

    Additional Desirable Qualifications:
    Applied experience with the graduate research, research publication, or grant-writing processes.
    Familiarity with academic and student personnel policies and procedures, particularly with respect to graduate admissions and student retention; experience with program assessment and benchmarking.
