Additionally, Associate Financial Aid Director typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the Financial Aid Director. The Associate Financial Aid Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Associate Financial Aid Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     POSITION SUMMARY: Moravian University is seeking a visionary Director of Financial Aid Services to oversee and manage all aspects of the financial aid department. This senior leadership role is pivotal in providing strategic direction, ensuring compliance with regulations, and effectively managing financial resources.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Strategic and Team Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and direction for the financial aid office, developing strategic goals and objectives aligned with the university's mission and enrollment targets. Lead, mentor, and supervise the Sr. Associate Director of Financial Aid, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and student-centered service within the financial aid office.
    • Customer Service Excellence: Foster a culture of excellent customer service and student support within the financial aid office, ensuring timely and compassionate assistance to students and families.
    • Policy Development: Develop financial aid policies in adherence to federal and state regulations, fostering transparency and equity in financial aid distribution.
    • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state financial aid regulations, as well as university policies, through proactive monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives. Stay abreast of changes in financial aid regulations and make necessary adjustments to university policies and procedures, serving as a resource for the university community.
    • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to financial aid trends, student demographics, and program effectiveness to inform strategic decision-making and optimize resource allocation.
    • Enrollment Support: Develop and implement financial aid packaging strategies that support enrollment and retention objectives, fostering access and affordability for all students.
    • Collaboration: Collaborate with other university departments and stakeholders to streamline financial aid processes and enhance student support services, contributing to overall student success and satisfaction.
    • Complex Cases Management: Oversee complex financial aid cases and appeals, ensuring fair and consistent decisions while prioritizing student needs and institutional goals.
    • Representation: Represent Moravian University in financial aid-related matters at the state and national levels, advocating for policies that support student access and success.
    • Expert Guidance: Provide expert guidance to students and families, one-on-one or in group settings, on financial aid options, eligibility, and the application process, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSABILITIES: Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Enrollment Operations and Financial Aid, contributing to the overall success of the enrollment management team.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's degree preferred.
    • Extensive experience (typically 7 years) in financial aid administration at progressively responsible levels.
    • Strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial aid policies and procedures.
    • Strong analytical and budget management skills.
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in financial aid practices.
