Associate Human Resources Director directs the human resources staff that implement and manage policies and programs that reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Being an Associate Human Resources Director oversees processes and programs that support employees and company operations, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes, provide data, and report on HR activity. Additionally, Associate Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Associate Human Resources Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Make the Road New York operates community centers in Bushwick, Brooklyn; Jackson Heights, Queens; Port Richmond, Staten Island; Brentwood, Long Island and White Plains, Westchester County. With a membership of 27,000, MRNY tackles the critical issues facing our communities, including workplace justice, tenants’ rights, immigrant rights and civil rights, TGNCIQ justice, public education, health care access, and immigration reform. Current Opening:
Make the Road States is looking for an experienced, highly motivated process driven and proactive HR professional who have demonstrated experience driving implementation and execution of key HR responsibilities in a fast paced environment serving an umbrella of organizations. The selected candidate will join an expanding human resources team working with union and non-union employees. The incumbent will handle employee and labor relations issues, policies and procedures, performance management, employee engagement, collective bargaining, and other ad hoc duties. This position will also play an important role partnering with the Director of People and Culture (DoPC) in creating an equitable, fair work environment for everyone as a key strategy for engagement and growth.
