Associate Human Resources Director directs the human resources staff that implement and manage policies and programs that reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Being an Associate Human Resources Director oversees processes and programs that support employees and company operations, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes, provide data, and report on HR activity. Additionally, Associate Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Associate Human Resources Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Associate Human Resources Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     SUMMARY

    The HR Coordinator will be far from one-dimensional. This role undertakes a wide range of HR tasks, like comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures, drafting templates for HR documents, organizing training, administering employee benefits, leaves of absence and crafting HR policies. HRIS will be used to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. And you’ll also act as one of the main points of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics. The goal is to ensure the HR department’s function and operation will run smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
    • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
    • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
    • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
    • Creates, plans and initiates Employee Engagement programs and activities.
    • Administer benefit programs such as life, medical, dental and disability insurance, 401k plan, PTO, worker’s compensation, leave of absence and employee assistance.
    • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
    • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
    • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
    • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
    • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
    • Support the recruiting, onboarding and termination process for exempt and non-exempt positions.
    • Prepares unemployment questionnaires and communicates directly with state personnel on those claims.
    • Implement policies for all areas of the human resources function including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations and compliance.
    • Ability to plan and lead Safety Team activities.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field.
    • 3 years’ experience in Human Resources.
    • Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking.

    • Strong empathy and interpersonal skills.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.


    RECOMMENDED SKILLS

    • 2 years’ experience in Human Resources, within a manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations.
    • Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
    • Knowledge of Paycom HRIS system a plus.
    • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
    • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
    • Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least six months of experience in payroll preferred.
    • Professional in Human Resources Certified (aPHR/PHR/SHRM) preferred but not required.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Office work environment.
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • May occasionally be exposed to increased noise level and moving mechanical parts on production floor and/or warehouse.
    • Must be able to lift, push or pull 15 pounds.
    • Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 8AM – 6PM with the possibility of in-office/remote work on Fridays. Work schedule may shift in days and hours worked due to production demand or business need.
