Primary Talent Partners has a 6 month contract opening for a Laboratory Technician to join a multinational pharmaceutical company for an onsite position in Millsboro, DE.
Pay: $21.00/hr - $22.00/hr
Contract: 6 months, extensions likely, conversion possible
Shift: Hours may be 6:00am - 2:30pm or 7:30am - 4:00pm.
Summary:
The Laboratory Technician will be accountable for critical laboratory procedures and duties in the production of veterinary products They will work with a variety of technical equipment while completing cell culture processes throughout the manufacturing cycle. At all times, they will follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to all safety and company policies.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, clean and sterilize glassware and equipment for use
Assist with equipment setup and operation
Assist with performing aseptic procedures including media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest, filling vaccines, etc.
Cleaning work area including floors, walls, tables, etc.
Concurrent record keeping including charts, log books, and all pertinent documentation.
Filling, labeling, capping, packaging and visual inspection of product
Assist in training new team members
Report all unusual, non-routine occurrences when performing tasks.
May be accountable for accumulation, labeling and management of hazardous wastes, as appropriate to their area, providing they are properly trained prior to assignment.
Assist with performing non-aseptic procedures including handling of poultry in the process of harvesting tissue or waste
Assist in reviewing and developing SOP's, Production Outlines, Special Outlines
Assist in reviewing production records and entering technical data into system
Attend training classes, workshops, meetings, etc., as needed to improve job skills and product-related procedures.
Assist in monitoring and requisitioning laboratory supplies.
Qualifications:
High School diploma/GED is required, college degree preferred but not required.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and conversions
Laboratory experience preferred
Former Manufacturing experience preferred.
Aseptic clean room behaviors experience preferred
Able to work flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the manufacturing process. This includes overtime, holidays and weekends. Days and hours are subject to change based on the needs of the business.
