Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a
Technical/Lead Procedure Writer/Editor opportunity to support the
Savannah River Site.

Technical/Lead Procedure Writer/Editor-
The Technical/Lead Procedure Writer/Editor will support the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) in project management and integration, regulatory assistance, project support of all functional areas and development and operational support for NNSA process facilities. Provide strategic planning support services to
the NNSA Capital Projects mission being performed by Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS), LLC. The primary focus of these support efforts shall be to provide assistance and support to the SRNS NNSA Capital Projects initiative through the development, editing, revision, and submittal of Critical Decision 2/3 packages, project specific procedures and plans, project status reports, and other project publications.
Duties
- Research, write, edit and proofread technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures and specifications.
- Ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specification and adhere to stands for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style.
- Provide assistance and support to the SRNS NNSA Capital Projects initiative through the development, editing, revision, and submittal of Critical Decision 2/3 packages.
- Assist the project in the preparation of critical decision submittal packages.
- Assist in the coordination with NNSA on matters associated with the project.
- Assist in the development of procurement bid packages and activities associated with the acquisition process for the SPD project.
- Develop documents and submittals and manage tasks associated with the SPD project risk management requirements.
- Maintain records of project activities and progress.
- Assist the NNSA project with procedure development and updates to regulatory compliance documents.
- Assist the NNSA project with requirements related to project controls and Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least six (6) years of relevant practical experience in at least one of the following: procedure development, procedure management, operations, maintenance, laboratory, technical writing and editing, work planning, configuration management or training OR an associate’s degree and at least fourteen (14) years of relevant practical experience OR a high school diploma and sixteen (16) years of relevant practical experience would be considered equivalent.
Experience/Skills:
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience supporting commercial or federal science, nuclear engineering or other task relevant programs or projects.
- Experience in at least one of the following: procedure development, procedure management, operations, maintenance, laboratory, technical writing and editing, work planning, configuration management or training.
- Project support experience with nuclear facility operations, Conduct of Operations and Readiness Reviews.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Site experience/knowledge of facilities and management at SRS is vital.
- Project support experience with nuclear facility operations, Conduct of Operations and Readiness Reviews, preferably at the SRS.
- Possessed an active DOE clearance (“L” or “Q”) within the past two (2) years.
Other Job Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” clearance (an active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties).
