Asst. Professor - Accounting teaches courses in the discipline area of accounting. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Accounting provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research in a specialized field. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Processing all purchase requisitions with the supporting documentation in the accounting system for the entities of PHA, Quad Patient’s funds.
2. Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with the audits for the entities stated above
3. Preparing the monthly VA financials.
4. Prepare monthly reports for patient’s funds.
5. Reconciling Genesis’s Food Invoicing.
6. Processing PHA’s every other monthly grant draw downs.
7. Assist with PHA APR.
8. Preparing SMI Quarterly reports.
9. Preparing Social Security Reports.
10. Record information into the general ledger through entering cash receipts daily as well as creating and entering journal entries to record expenses and revenue.
11. Reconcile AR accounts.
12. Responsibilities related to the monthly invoicing of program bills to the state (KORE, KEIS, and Michele P) and complete the corresponding journal entries.
13. Assist in creating financial records each month and dispersing them throughout the organization.
14. Designated backup for Accounts Payable in Region 2
15. Other duties as assigned/required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate plus accounting experience/training including double-entry, bookkeeping, purchase orders, accounts payable, income statements, balance sheets, and bank account reconciliations. Proficiency with spreadsheets such as Excel. Proficiency with accounting software, organizational skills and filing. Strong ability to multi-task, meet general objectives within a narrow time frame, and communicate effectively. Must pass a Criminal Record Check.
