Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant at Merit Chevrolet Co. in Maplewood, Minnesota will be responsible for supporting the body shop and accounting department. This position is a full-time individual contributor role in the auto industry. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as a high attention to detail. The compensation for this position is between $19-$25, paid weekly. We have two full time positions available, one in the body shop and one in the main office.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and process body shop related accounting entries, including but not limited to parts and labor sales, vehicle cost of sales, and repair order payments
• Reconcile body shop parts tickets with vendor invoices and assist with resolving discrepancies
• Maintain proper documentation and organization of all body shop financial records, including repair orders, parts invoices, and vendor statements
• Communicate with vendors, customers, and other internal departments to resolve any accounting-related issues
• Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Answer phones and emails
• Other duties and projects as assigned by the Body Shop Manager and/or Controller
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1-2 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in the auto industry
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines
• Must pass a background check and drug screening
