Asst. Professor - Biology teaches courses in the discipline area of biology. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Biology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Biology typically reports to a department head.      Clark College is currently accepting applications for multiple part-time Biology Professor positions.  Applicants must be available to teach in-person in the daytime or evening hours. At this time, we are particularly interested in instructors who can teach Majors Cell/Molecular Biology, Majors Organismal Physiology, Microbiology, and/or General Biology.  The lecture rate is $85.48 per hour and the lab rate is $73.01 per hour.
     
    This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

     GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Instruct Biology classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in relevant department activities that support the teaching and learning environment.
    • Effectively use computer applications (such as Canvas) and email for instruction and communication where appropriate.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
    • Master's Degree in Biology or a closely related field (with significant graduate coursework in biology) or a closely related field.
    • Teaching experience.
    • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
    SALARY STATEMENT: Lecture hourly rate is $85.48, and lab hourly rate is $73.01.
